yourarchetype.is (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We do not require account creation, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Birthdate. Used locally in your browser to compute your archetype. It is not sent to our servers unless you purchase a personalized reading.
• Name (optional, for readings). If you purchase a personalized reading, the name(s) you provide are used solely to generate that reading. They are not retained beyond fulfillment.
• Email address (optional). Collected only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter or purchase a product. Used to send your reading, order confirmation, and occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
• Shipping address (optional, for prints). If you order a framed print, your shipping address is passed to our fulfillment partner (Printful) and is not stored on our servers beyond the order transaction.

Information collected automatically

• Analytics data. We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site (page views, click events, session replays). PostHog data is anonymized and does not include personally identifiable information unless you have provided it elsewhere in the session.
• Ambient browser signals. When generating a personalized reading, we may use your browser timezone and device type to add contextual detail. These signals are ephemeral — used during generation only and not stored.
• Anonymous session identifier. We store a randomly generated UUID in your browser's localStorage to associate your ratings and reading status across page loads. This identifier contains no personal information and is not shared with third parties.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see, transmit, or store your card number, CVV, or full payment details. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information. We receive only a confirmation token and the details necessary to fulfill your order.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) for session management. This data lives only in your browser and is not transmitted to third-party advertising networks. Our analytics provider (PostHog) may set cookies to maintain session continuity for analytics purposes.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate and deliver your personalized reading
• To fulfill physical print orders via our print partner
• To send transactional emails (order confirmation, reading delivery)
• To send newsletter updates if you have subscribed (opt-in only)
• To improve the site through aggregate, anonymized analytics
• To prevent fraud and abuse

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the service:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Anthropic — AI reading generation (birthdate + name inputs only)
• Printful — print order fulfillment (email + shipping address)
• PostHog — anonymized product analytics
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Supabase — database hosting (ratings, reading records, share links)
• Vercel — web hosting and edge delivery

Data Retention

Reading records are retained to allow you to revisit your reading via its unique link. Aggregate archetype statistics (reader counts, accuracy ratings) are retained indefinitely in anonymized form. Email subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the unsubscribe link
• Request deletion of any personal information associated with your email address
• Clear your local session identifier by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
